I’m Shakirra, a homeschool mom of four children, ages 6 to 15. For the past seven years, homeschooling has been both a calling and a blessing in my life. My journey began when God placed the idea of homeschooling on my heart after a simple conversation with a friend. One of my sons has sickle cell disease, and the thought of sending him to traditional school didn’t feel like the right path for our family.

With prayer, research, and the support of my husband, I took the leap into homeschooling, and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Over the years, I’ve gained knowledge and experience not only homeschooling my own children but also working with children of varying ages and learning styles.

With this experience, along with my Master’s degree in Leadership and Management, as well as my certification as a Herbalist, and my drive to see children succeed academically, I felt called to expand and open Bright Warriors Academy. My mission is to combine my personal journey, professional background, and passion for education to support homeschool families and create a space where children can thrive.
